Computer science
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills and knowledge can be acquired and developed in an environment tailored to particular age groups and surroundings. Such is the mission of ICT Starter Awards of the University of Cambridge.
Recognised worldwide, the ICT Starters Awards allows pupils to develop the ICT knowledge and skills they require, which may then support learning in a range of subjects. At each stage of the scheme, pupils will use ICT to: communicate, model, handle information, measure and control according to a specific objective.
Cambridge testing programmes offer a wide range of technical possibilities according to their age group. Pupils learn : the basics of desktop publishing (Word), how to use spreadsheets, how to create a multimedia presentation (video and animation), how to design and use different database systems, create a simple website, use the Internet, how to send, receive and create e-mail messages, programming and robotics.
