«Omnia vincit amor» – meaning « Love Conquers All »

This  quote from Virgil  became our boarding school’s motto. It faithfully follows the tradition of the Dominican Fathers who founded our College in 1903. It is also indebted to the philosophy of the Canons of the Grand Saint-Bernard who worked at Champittet from 1951 to 1998. For them the source of all love, – Love with a capital L – as represented by the teachings of Jesus Christ.

As a Catholic school we cannot and do not want to disregard the fundamental spiritual dimension at the core of every human being. Our prefect’s religious values and our chaplain’s receptiveness make our school a place where the students can share their spiritual values and be listened to in a complete and profound respect for their beliefs.

The readings of the Sacred Scripture’s great texts before breakfast, the prayer before the beginning of classes, and the blessing round the table before dinner are all little moments allowing for raising spiritual consciousness. This essential spiritual dimension is also physically represented by the chapel at the heart of our premises.

The College offers catechism, religion classes as well as early learning activities about faith and human values. At the secondary level, religion classes are compulsory and consist of lessons either on the great religions of the world or catechism classes in line with the programme of the Centre Catéchétique Catholique Vaudois.

For Catholic students who wish to prepare for the sacraments, supplementary classes are organised in the early evening.
