Computer science
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills and knowledge can be acquired and developed in an environment tailored to specific age groups and surroundings. Such is the mission of ICT Starter Awards of the University of Cambridge.
At each stage of the scheme, pupils will use ICT to: communicate, model, evaluate, control, and use information according to a specific objective.
FUTUREKIDS is the exclusive international organization in Switzerland which, in partnership with schools, prepares the students to pass the Cambridge ICT Certificate.
- Age appropriate tests include:
- basics of desktop publishing (Word)
- creating and using spreadsheets
- creating multimedia presentation (video and animation)
- designing and using different database systems
- creating a simple website
- Internet
- sending, receiving and creating e-mail messages
- programming and robotics
The FUTUREKIDS ICT curriculum is closely related to the Cambridge Awards pedagogical objectives and proposes fun activities as well as tutoring lessons leading to a high success rate.
The test administered by FUTUREKIDS is in French (English upon request) in a computer lab at Champittet.
