«Omnia vincit amor» – meaning « Love Conquers All »

« Love Conquers All », a quote from Virgil, is our boarding school’s motto. Faithfully following the tradition of the Dominican Fathers who founded our College in 1903, it is also indebted to the philosophy of the Canons of the Grand Saint-Bernard who worked at Collège Champittet from 1951 to 1998. For them the source of all LOVE is represented in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

As a Catholic school we cannot disregard the spiritual dimension, a fundamental part of every human being. Our religious values and our chaplain’s receptiveness make our school a place where the students can share their spiritual values and be treated with a complete and profound respect for their beliefs.

The readings of the Scripture before breakfast, the prayer before the beginning of the classes for the day, and the blessing before dinner, are all moments allowing to raise spiritual awareness. This essential dimension is also physically represented by the Chapel at the heart of our campus.

The Collège offers catechism, religion classes as well as early learning activities about faith and human values. At the secondary level, religion classes are mandatory and consist of lessons either on the great religions of the world or catechism in line with the programme of the Centre Catéchétique Catholique Vaudois.

For Catholic students who wish to prepare for the sacraments, supplementary classes are organised in the early evening as well as retreats during week ends and holidays.
